Patrick Fung

Hi, Im Patrick, a Game Designer who loves to work closely with passionate people who share the same values in making immersive games that can help, entertain people.

 

A ​Quick Get-to know me:​

  • I began having the epiphany of wanting to become an entrepreneur (something to do with tech or games) in late 2018. So I quit my career as an engineer/site manager, and started doing something about it!

  • Attended AIE studying game design in 2019.

  • Worked as a QA technician for a KIA game at S1T2 Australian Open 2020.

What tickles my pickle:

  • Playing Competitive Games.

  • Tennis

  • Curious about the future of gaming and tech!

 

  

EXPERIENCE

BobbaMaster

One random day, an idea of making a Gyro interactive game popped into my creative space. I wanted to challenge the unknown of social experience, that can a player feel distaughted but still find the game too challenging and competitive to stop? Despite feeling sick from the game, will players compete vigorous as only the strong players can surpass this game? Are you weak or strong?

So I decided to make a solo 12-hr gamejam!

Tunnel Runner

Roles and responsibilities: ​​

Designer​

  • Design the Gyro mechanic and how it can be implemented with game play.

  • Enemies and Boss Design

  • Enemies Waves Design

Programer​

  • Gyro Mechanic

  • Waves Spawn

Tunnel Runner is a game that my friend and i produced in a fun-sie 7hr gamejam. 

It is a  Infinite Runner but with a twist; Player will need to switch between vision mode to avoid 2 different types of obstacles.

Team Size: 2

Designer​

  • Designed each prefab loop pattern

Frozen Depths

Fabio is on a mission to Antarctica to find an antidote that can save the world. However, he faces adversities during his adventure. He will then be given the ability to melt and create ice using this hybrid gun he found.   

Genre:  Narrative, Adventure 
Engine: Unity
Platform:  PC

Team Size: 6 People (1 Designer/Producer, 3 Programmers, 2 artist)

Roles and responsibilities: ​​

Producer

  • Co-ordinated  team of programmers, artist, sound artist.

  • Held morning scrum.

  • Compiled all updated scripts and art on Wednesday for a weekly build.

Designer​

  • Designed the narrative of the game.

  • Designed and prototyped the levels.

  • Implemented all features including game-play mechanics, Art, narrative into the game.

Elite Heist

Elite Heist is an Escape-Room game for Mobile VR-Cardboard. 

You play as a robber trying to break into Rothcilds Bank. 

Genre: Escape Room
Engine: Unity
Platform: VR

Team Size: 8 People (1 Designer/Producer/Programmer, 7 Artist)

Roles and responsibilities: ​​

  • Producer, Designer, Programmer.

  • Managed and delegated tasks to the 7 artists.

  • Build the levels with all the assets from the artist.

  • Made the script  sprites clues via Gimp2.

Ye Olde Beach Disaster

Play as a Macho bloke who makes ice-cream for a living. He is assigned to defend his home-town from incoming pirates by giving them the ice-cream that they want. The game will get harder as the wave gets higher!! Take the challenge if you want to defend Macho's home-town.

Team Size: 9 People (1 Producer, 2 Designer, 2 Programmers, 5 Artist)

  • Coordinated with the  designer, programmers, and artist.

  • Held morning scrums.

  • Designed the mechanic and rules of the game.

  • Designed the level layout.

Sweet Thieves

Play as hungry chameleons in a terrarium and compete against your friends to capture the most pancakes before time runs out!

Genre: Arcade, Multiplayer Party
Engine: Unity
Platform: PC

Team Size: 12 People (1 Producer, 2 Designer, 3 Programmer, 5 Artist)
